Spiritual & Cultural Activities

As an affiliated centre of the Ramakrishna Mission, our Centre conducts a daily worship of Bhagwan Sri Ramakrishna in the Shrine. Apart from this service, we also conduct special worship ceremonies and other functions on special occasions such as a fortnightly Ramanam Sankirtan (on every Ekadasi Day), Durga Puja, Kali Puja, Saraswati Puja, Shivaratri, birthday celebrations of spiritual luminaries as well as Tithi Pujas of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda. Certain functions such as special pujas and ‘Bhakta Sammelan’ on Guru Purnima and other such special days are organized under the aegis of the Ramakrishna Mission.

In order to spread the immortal and inspiring message of Sri Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda, our Centre conducts a variety of programmes, including:

  1. religious discourses on weekend evenings
  2. periodical discourses on scriptures in different places of the Islands
  3. Inter/ Intra school and college competitions on the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda on the occasion of National Youth Day (the Birthday of Swami Vivekananda)
  4. special lectures by eminent persons.

Our Centre arranges lectures on spiritual, moral, social and cultural values which are broadcast through the All India Radio, Port Blair during various occasions.
