New Temple Construction

Thakur, Ma and Swamiji

Our centre was badly affected by the 2004 tsunami which caused extensive damage to Mission property. In particular, the Prayer Hall was damaged as it is closest to the sea and is on low ground. Even today, worship activities are disturbed during heavy rains as the temple tends to get flooded, forcing us to remove the holy images of Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda. During such times we are not able to conduct regular worship and singing of bhajans by the children of the Boys Home.

In order to avoid such situations, the Mission proposes to construct a new Prayer Hall on elevated ground. The proposed cost of this project is Rs 1.5 Crores.

We, therefore appeal to one and all to contribute generously to this project. Any amount will be thankfully received and gratefully acknowledged. Details on how to contribute are in the panel on the left. Donations to the Ramakrishna Mission are exempt from income tax under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
